Prof. G. K. Panda (PhD) presently works as Professor in Geography and Chief Executive of the Population Research Center, Utkal University with more than two decades of experience in environment, population, health and urban Sector focusing on programme evaluation, Disaster Management, Capacity Building in planning and Climate Change. Academics include local, national & international education. His work areas allowed him to interface between international agencies, Public sector officials and civil society organizations. He has several publications include books, research papers, reports and monographs. The research projects handled ranges from environment, disasters and from the health and demography the projects are NFHS – 3, DLHS – 3, evaluation of NRHM, Immunization coverage survey, Awareness Programme on HIV/AIDS. Some of the international organizations for which he worked are WHO, UNDP, UNFPA, CARE, BCD and for the public sector organizations like UGC, Dept. of Ocean Development, Orissa Pollution Control Board and OSDMA.
In addition to his involvement with Local Governance Network, he is the Professor in Geography and Chief Executive of the Population Research Center, Utkal University and has several publications including books, research papers, reports and monographs. |
